One of the recent trends is the consumption of natural salt water. While some claim salt water can help the body get out of toxins and increase energy levels, others are more skeptical about its supposed benefits, writes health.com.al.
The founder of “Pictical Nontoxic Living”, Sophia Gusée, decided to test the water with salt for a week. At the end of the week, she reported that consumption of this mixture helped her to clean up her skin, improve her quality of sleep, and improve her health. But dietologist Rhiannon Lambert is not convinced by this trend, much less that helps detoxify the body.
“We are often confused by these “tree” we look at online, and this seems to be the last one we have to be careful about:x3>, it tells about The Independent.
“Studies have shown that consumption of moderate salt can be useful in managing blood pressure. But overindulgence with salt can lead to a developing high blood pressure”.
While she acknowledges that it is necessary to consume small doses of salt as part of a healthy diet, she also points out that there is no data proving that salt can help in such functions as digestive.
“It is important to know that any benefit comes from the primary water component”, it points out.
