Journalist Augustin Palockaj has written about the informal summit held in Sofia, Bulgaria, writes Periscopi.

In that writing, Palocaj says this summit has confirmed some bitter truths to countries in the region as regards their quick membership in the European Union. According to Palockaj, the Sofia summit showed the unsupportable positions of leaders of key EU countries, in particular it has cited the stance of France's president, Emmanuel Macron and that of German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

I am to connect the Western Balkans to Europe. With great care and attention, you should observe any expansion. The negotiations, which are under way, must help countries that make reforms and advance towards the EU, and that is also my strategic choice. But I'm not in favour of this before we have all guarantees and prior to reforms which would enable the best deepening and functioning of the European Union, so that it can then move towards enlargement” stated in the quote received by Mr. Macron.
