Ramadani in Interview has clarified that despite Serbian politicians' refusal to vote on the KSF's conversion to the Army, Kosovo institutions are continuing work on constitutional and legal changes for transformation into the Army.
He has said that after the transformation, the Kosovo Army will not replace KFOR, but will be its partner in regional security.
Serbia's “Rejection of the Serbian List does not discourage us from continuing to work on constitutional changes”, Ramadani said at “Express Interview” on KTV.
Kosovo's “Army will not be KFOR's replacement, will be its partner for regional security. Efforts for constitutional changes must continue, and the important part is legal variations in order to expand the mandate and operational capacity of the KSF. This consultation with international actors gives the push ahead of the KSF transition process so that we do not waste time until Serbian representatives are ready to vote on the UN Army”, he added.
Ramadani has clarified that at today's meeting the KSF situation and plans to increase operational capacities and the 10-year plan for the new KSF mandate that meets the goal of establishing the military.
“We aim for KSF to be contributing to different parts of the world, in conflict areas, as it helped us NATO 20 years ago. There have been reflections mainly on its capacities, but the truth is that our aim is for transformation to occur through constitutional changes” has reiterated Ramadani.
Despite Serb politicians' refusal to vote on converting the KSF into the Army, Ramadani has said 6 per cent of the KSF consists of the Serb community and 15 per cent of other communities.
Ramadani has said that for the transformation of the KSF into the Army, the ratification of 39 laws under the constitutional amendments.
The KSF Transition to the Army is the simplest piece of procedure”, he said.
