According to the statement, the European Union's expansion to Western Balkan states remains not only a need but also a guarantee of peace and regional and continental development as the summit should serve as the starting point for the complete political, economic and social transformation of the Western Balkans
The statement says the failed “dialog of Brussels between Kosovo and Serbia is primarily the result of its misuse and mismanagement by the capture of the state in Pristina and Belgrade, which have used it in the service of maintaining their authoritarian powers. The Social Democrat Party considers this dialogue should be reconsidered and included in the framework of the new enlargement strategy, conditioning negotiations for membership of Western Balkan states with recognition of Kosovo's independence, already proven as a factor of stability and peace in the region. The sovereignty of the Republic of Kosovo is also geopolitical interest in building and consolidating a united Europe, co-ordination, social and functional.
After commemorating the ban on free circulation of Kosovo citizens, the statement ultimately stresses that the lack of visa liberalisation for Kosovo has punished its citizens, not the corrupt and criminalised politicians of our Republic. This isolation should end as soon as possible, despite the stances of the member states of the European Union over Kosovo's independence.
