At the Kosovo Assembly session, which was held Thursday, the Law for Pristina was adopted, and Prizren was also declared the country's historic capital.
This decision has prompted harsh reactions in Serbia.
Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic named this decision as “the next approval from Kosovo”.
“If Haradinaj and Thaci are concerned about Prizren, I am afraid of the large number of Serbs who once lived there”, the Serbian minister said.
The fiercest in their statements have been the Serbian Hisotinas.
Cedomir Antic tells Novosti that such an act is an attempt to redefinate history.
This is an old game of Albanians. It is a desire to compensate for what Kosovo does not have. Kosovo is a country without history and culture, and thus is trying to pass through the stages of development that other countries have passed”, Antic said.
Other historian Rados Lucic has named Prizren's proclamation as the historic capital, as a sign of the creation of “Greater Albania”.
“Albanians want Prizren to rise to the level of the historical centre, so this is the next capital of United Albania. This avoids conflict on whether the centre of Greater Albania should be Tirana or Pristina”, Lucic said.
He has therefore valued Prizren as synonymous “of Serbian history”.
Otherwise, this decision was passed in the Parliament by 66 votes. And against were the deputies of the Serbian List. /Lajmi.net/
