Hashim Thaci, the president of Kosovo, where the official unemployment figure is 30 percent and reported almost every day for violating the rights of those employed, has written a status of praise to the workers in the country. All in the end, the president in about two sentences writes that he joins concerns about the further advancement of the workers in the country.
Interestingly, the president's view of May 1 party culture in Kosovo where he points: “depending on their countries and cultures, there are different views of May Day, but this day is always celebrated in”.
He writes on Facebook:
Every worker in Kosovo is now more valued than in the past. We've raised wages several times and now they're almost equal to the countries in the region. We have drafted modern laws that protect workers' rights, but better implementation and monitoring are required. Depending on their places and cultures, there are different views of May Day, but this day has always been celebrated in us. I share the concern with all workers, both in the public sector and in the private sector, and I join their demands for better working conditions and more rights to workers. As a new country, we need to have a more dignified care for all social categories, where the strongest pillar of our economy and Republic are certainly all workers. HTH
