Shalli, the red tie and the same color vest, along with the costume former President Ibrahim Rugova had used during visits with different local and international personalities are part of the exhibition that has opened today in honour of President's Day.

Also, collections of stones preserved by the former president, silver dishes with the seal of the president, newspapers, magazines, family-incentives, literary creativity, politics, diplomacy and citizenship, as well as anything else reflecting the flow of former President Rugova's activities before, during and after the war, will be viewed closely at this exhibition.

All these exhibits, although she had seen them before very carefully, she was looking at the wife of former President Fana, who was accompanied by her daughter and her two sons.

This exhibition of the personal things of former Kosovo President Ibrahim Rugova has been opened by the Kosovo Museum . History Sector entitled “Contributer of Historical President Dr. Ibrahim Rugova in the State of Kosovo”.

The opening of this exhibition was Kosovo's current president, Hashim Thaci, who, despite his political opponent Rugova, said Rugova had an irreplaceable role for Kosovo's independence.

President Thaci said the country's independence did not come as an incident or a political accident, but was won by self-denial and unique sacrifice.

“was a man of patience and reconciliation, a man of vision. Today every party and every political leader must see Kosovo's stable future and Euro-Atlantic perspective, ahead of the political parties' specific interests and addresses, as we did together in the past. Today, every citizen of Kosovo wherever he lives in Kosovo or diaspora is free-willed, is a liberation. Today Kosovo is a state, has its own symbols, Kosovo has its national and state identity, Kosovo has European identities. Hence, each one should feel proud of his accomplishments. The state of Kosovo is above all and ahead of any political address. All of us should be in service of our country”, Thaci said.

While Kosovo's former prime minister in exile, Bujar Bukoshi, has called for strengthening the state and its economy.

Bukoshi also had words for Kosovo's dialogue with the Serbian state.

“We've managed to make a state, I'm now making an appeal that looked at the balance of this state, strengthened the state with two components, with the rule of law and a solid economy that does all the work. The next point is what I might ruin a little, but you don't see me big enough that I'm free to speak today. We have business with Serbia yet, so this is badly blocking us and I must not be without optimism that after these negotiations, for which sometimes I am very pessimistic at night it is a very confusing situation. But this peaceful resistance that has become 10 years since Ibrahim Rugova led the rest of us have been just hysmies as to say and I'm not saying here for a false modesty that stands that way. This resistance has prepared Kosovo's independence bed as it did not function as a whole, but we also had components of Albanian resistance after those sufferings. The third is that having a strong sponsor of the United States we managed to get Serbia's state out of here and not let it happen again, Bukoshi said.

The opening of this exhibition has also welcomed the LDK deputy leader, Lufti Haziri, who said he unveiled something that citizens did not have known.

“It explains something that maybe citizens, the public has not known, but it restores memory about the role of the founding president of the Republic, not only the founders of the LDK and the political movement of the day, the man who has confirmed Kosovo and who has arrived for 9 years to be released from a 100-year turnover. We are dealing with a leader who, with political resistance, with peaceful resistance, has built international solidarity and that solidarity has translated into support for Kosovo to independence and today we live with his spirit, with his vision”, he said.

This exhibition of honour to former President Ibrahim Rugova is conducted by Sadik Krasniqi and Besnik Raraci. He has also shown why he has opened up today.

May “24, actually in 1992, were held the first parliamentary and presidential elections, meaning it is the president's day of the Republic of Kosovo and is symbolic of the president. President Rugova has inaugurated it as the president's day and is now president's day 24 May. For that we have chosen as the reference date that is the most appropriate date to make an exhibition for the great figure of historic President Ibrahim Rugova”, he said.

He announced that some of the exhibits will stay at the Kosovo Museum as a fund for the 90-99 president's period and the rest will return to the family.

The exhibition features over 70 different exhibits by former President Ibrahim Rugova and over 500 photos, documents and newspapers, as well as some art and art works related to events and the figure of former President Ibrahim Rugova. /
