Greek Prime Minister Cipras has informed Nea Democratic leader Mitsotakis over the phone that with Zoran Zaev has discussed the name Republic of Macedonia of Ilinden reporting from the Greek opposition party.
As MIA correspondent from Athens for New Democracy reports, the concrete name is not acceptable because it relates to the creation of a Macedonian state and a nation that includes Thessaloniki.
This name is historically and directly linked to the aspirin to create a Macedonian “ “> and a state that includes Thessaloniki and extends to the Aegean Sea. Any mention of Ilinden on behalf of the neighbouring country not only does it not end Skopje's irenadentism, but confirms and strengthens it. It is therefore unacceptable to even be established as a topic for discussion”, the Greek opposition party say.
