A report by Radio Public Television (RTK) has found that around 200 thousand euros is the cost of stageing, pejsmeries, electrodes, katheters, balloons and other equipment used in Cardiology that has expired the deadline for which no one has held responsibility.
These extenuating materials are not used in the Cardiology Clinic, where most doctors are under indictment. It's all confirmed by Basri Sejdiu, Director of the Kosovo Hospital Clinic University Clinic (SHSKUK).
Unfortunately, there was a time when I was director in Cardiology when there was an endorm of expired material. She was in the investigator and I don't know the epilogue... ”, Sejdiu said.
He explained that they were thrown into the trash.
It's a budget damage. The advantage of that census was to deliver a large quantity of material near the” scan, he said.
At a time when these materials were not used by the QKUK clinics in the state prosecutor's allegations there had been an influx from the Cardiology Clinic, where patients were sent to the Private Clinic to receive cardiological services. To that end, more than 60 health - care workers, the largest number of doctors and employees of the Cardiology Clinic continue to be tried today. They are accused of misusing official office to abuse patients who needed to treat heart disease. Patients were sent to private institutions, while 70 percent of the payments were paid by the Ministry of Health. The prosecution believes that these doctors sent patients to private hospitals without need, only to obtain amounts of money by referring to patients in the private sector.
In view of the abuse of patients, director Sejdiu, who among the employed Cardiology pact has escaped compromise, has sought a solution that has been necessary for heart patients. By February, Cardiology and Cardiscuurgy Clinic and Oncology have begun 24-hour custody. If one night you treat 12 patients with a heart attack and these have been sent out in the past. This has been a budget cost to the patient, but even with this, there is an increase in performance for doctors”, Sejdiu said of the “show” in RTK.
But patients have complaints about the lack of drugs. The high cost is another 1 euro when you don't have one. Thank God for having someone to take care of these jobs and not go out on our own to buy them. God forbid it gets better”, Sabrije Brbatovci, a kadiology patient, said.
Meanwhile in Oncology Clinic, machine problems have often caused patients to fail to receive radio therapy during 24-hour custody.
The day that the show team shot “ends” in the Oncology Clinic has had defects in both of the receivers used for radio therapy. One has not worked for a long time until the other, according to the staff, has collapsed the very day the team went to QKUK.
Patients with oncological diseases are reluctant to speak to cameras. But their family members have complaints about their lack of drugs. “The terms are good. Nurses are nice. The drugs are buying them. They have very high costs for the standard in Kosovo. But we are definitely forced to buy”, says a patient's family member, preferring to protect her identity.
She has shown that cancer patients are often forced to borrow each other's drugs.
