Robert Muharrem, international relations expert, said Kosovo's membership in international organisations is linked to Kosovo's foreign policy goals.
According to him, although the government programme has placed priority points for membership in international organisations, there has not been a movement in this direction.
“since 2008 Kosovo has become about 63 international organisations. Kosovo is a member of the few multilateral conventions. Where are we now? We know that recognitions have had a beautiful high number and that you now have a progressive decline in recent years. This shows that there's some kind of stagnation with regard to bilateral recognitions.”, Muharremi said.
According to him, one of the main projects is Interpol membership, and according to Muharrem, it has not done well.
Where are the problems? The problem is if we have the votes. We need 2/3 of the voters. We have the UNMIK problem as this mission has agreements with Interpol and communication continues with UNMIK. U n NMIC has voiced reserve for Kosovo's membership in Interpol. We have real respect for Interpol”, Muharrem said.
He has appealed that MPJ and the office of prime minister and president watch little instruments to strengthen international subjectivity.
