The Kosovo Government's meeting that was meant to be held today has failed.
Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj has announced that there has been no quorum to continue the meeting.
Economic Development Minister Valdrin Luka has said government meetings can sometimes fail.
“This is understood by... This Government holds meetings more than once a week and has no specific schedule, except for the Government's standard meeting that is once a week”.
There are also ad-hoc meetings because there are many different events. Today's meeting was a meeting called yesterday, and there were various plannings, some may have been on trips”.
Prime Minister Haradinaj has declared that if this behaviour continues, it will require that ministers who commit unreasonable shortages be relieved.
It's only for cases where there's no excuse for lack. Failure to meet a government is not a pleasant”.
But, Luka in Info Magazine of Kosovo has denied that the reason for the government's failure to meet was the prime minister's decision to cut Kosovo Telecom workers' salaries.
I'm sure this issue hasn't been the point of the agenda. Such points are sensitive and very important”.
“You must not access this point to the different” category and come as a surprise, the ministers should be formally informed”.
He has also commented on the possible reduction of Kosovo Telecom workers' salaries.
“We are working in that respect, emergency measures for saving Telekom” are discussed.
It's co-ordinating jobs that are being done for the benefit of Telekom ] reducing administrative spending, wages, rents, maintenance expenses and where there is room for improvement”.
Luka has said there are no speculation that salaries at Telekom will drop by 40%.
“is not true, it's speculation”.
“are proposals coming to the ministry. I plan next week to call the Interministerial Committee, which examines these measures as short-term and medium-term plans for the rescue of Telekom and then proposes to the Government to act further”.
These measures are not necessary, but are the only possible measures that can save Telekom”.
