Cambridge Analytica, Britain's headquarters consulting firm, which has announced it will be closed, has been accused of receiving data from 87 million Facebook profiles, for use in political campaigns.
Cambridge Analytica has denied any wrongdoing.
Zuckerberg apologized for, as he said, using Facebook tools to cause damage.
“This was wrong”, he said before the European Parliament.
Zuckerberg is accused of not doing enough to prevent third parties, such as Cambridge Analytica, from accessing Facebook users' information, REL.
The social network also faces criticism for failing to handle false news.
