He has spoken even of Russia's possible threats, saying that while KFOR is in Kosovo any aggression against the country is aggression against NATO

While KFOR is in Kosovo, any aggression against the country is aggression against KFOR and NATO.

So stated during an interview with the newspaper “Voice” KFOR Commander Salvatore Cuoci, commenting on Russia's possible threats to Kosovo and taking into account its continuing clashes with NATO.

In principle, KFOR is NATO and until KFOR is here any aggression in the country will be an aggression against KFOR and against NATO as well. I don't think there will be a direct threat to Russia for Kosovo. We may have a Russian influence of course, but this is part of the international policies that each country undertakes and essentially we don't see a real threat from Russia to Kosovo”, Cuoci has declared. KFOR commander has also indicated that the force he heads is ready to assist Kosovo security authorities if it is necessary to conduct arrests at the time the charges by the Special Court are established.

According to him, KFOR is responsible for providing a safe environment in the country and in the event of the establishment of charges, the launch of arrests, the organisation of any protest, and if Kosovo police are unable to manage the situation, then KFOR is ready to intervene.

In such cases we are willing to intervene, as this is part of our” mission, Cuoci said among others. KFOR's first during this interview has also spoken of the arrest of Serbian Office for Kosovo chief Marko Djuric, saying he has been able to avoid police brutality, commented on the danger of Serbia's arming Serbia, the Russian centre in Nis, of transforming KSF into Armed Forces, as well as of the idea of exchanging territories between Kosovo and Serbia.
