At today's session, which has lasted for over four hours, five witnesses from the special prosecution have been invited to testify in the trial where the ex-Depute of The PDK and the former mayor of Lipjan municipality, Shukri Buja, are being charged with abuse of office.

The case is one of the cases targeted for visa liberalisation.

Ismet Jashanica, construction inspector in Lipjan, Retkoceri Headquarters from the company “Standard- Benz”, Lulzim Rrustemi, head of the Municipal Assembly in Lipjan, as well as Hanushe Berisha, director of Planning and Urbanism, were heard in the quality of witnesses in the Department of Criminal Crimes in the criminal case for allegedly damaging the Lipjan municipality budget.

Invited to testify was Gazmend Retkocer, also from the company “Standard-Benz”, but he used his right did not want to be declared because he was the family of the accused Fahri Retkozer.

These witnesses were the latest witnesses proposed by the prosecution in this criminal case, which subsequently continued with the administration of special prosecution evidence.

Special prosecutor Agron Bajrami said it remains overall near the proposed evidence.

These prosecution evidence was rejected by defence lawyers, as well as by the accused himself.

The procedure, at the next session scheduled for Monday, will continue with the provision of protection on the part of the accused, which means few more sessions remain until the epilogue is given to this criminal case.

On April 28, 2017, Buya was declared innocent of the charges she was charged with. Meanwhile, on May 31st the same year, in the second review, where a request was issued to drop the indictment and reject the evidence, Boya demanded that the prosecution cast the charge against him, arguing that the purpose of its establishment has been achieved.

“Requesting from the prosecution body to drop the prosecution, because it has achieved the right effect and I am deprived of the right to be MP”, Buja had said.

Since holding the second review in May 2017, no session was scheduled to be held on this criminal case until yesterday, May 17, 2018.

For these more than 11 months, the first degree had rejected the defence requirement for dropping charges and rejecting evidence, and also in November 2017 KALLXO.com had realized that even the second instance had rejected the defence complaint against the decision of the first.

At yesterday's hearing, where the opening word was given and two witnesses were heard, the chairman of the court has warned that this criminal case is expected to be concluded with 3-4 hearings.

Along with the accused Buya of this process are Nebit Zeqiri, Halit Gashi, Fahri Retkoceri, Hasim Visegrad, Edmond Rexhepi, Dritton Avdiu, Burim Kodra, Bajram Rizani and Magbule Sadiku.

Even three of those charged at the time they were charged were Lipjan municipal officials.

The Lipjan municipality at the time it was headed by Shukri Buya on March 21, 2008, had signed a memorandum with “Go ahead. C.” renting this company a lab building in Lipjan.

According to the indictment, the memorandum was defined as “Go ahead. C.” paid from one euro per month rent for the laboratory facility, while the company was given this laboratory for 10 years.

This is what the prosecution claims to have caused damage to the Lipjan municipality.

KA LLXO.com has reported in progress for this trial process.

At a meeting held last week, Pristina Foundation Court head Aferdita Bytyci asked the judges of this court for greater commitment in connection with cases targeted in this court.
