Kosovo is a small country, with only 2 million people, and we are among the rare countries that have spent money from our budget to carry out large infrastructure projects. Now is the time to have new investments in many fields, separately in mines and telecoms. We are open to all investors, and this forum is a good opportunity to share these options”, Prime Minister Haradinaj said in his opening address to the panel consisting of the prime ministers of the Balkan countries and Bulgaria.
Prime Minister Haradinaj presented Kosovo's interest in projects from the infrastructure field, with particular emphasis on foreign investments, trade, digitalisation and furniture, which are also the theme of this forum, revealing the reach of infrastructure, and the fact that the country in co-operation with the EBRD and the EIB, is planning projects that connect it even more to Western Balkan countries and European countries.
“Kosovo has basically completed 65 percent of the road that connects Pristina with Skopje, we have started the road connecting Pristina with the periphery, and that the same will continue towards the Merdar border, with Albania already finished, until 2022 all secondary and regional roads in the country will have access to the Auto roads linking Kosovo with Macedonia, Serbia, Albania and Montenegro, while working to launch railway projects linking Kosovo with Serbia<1>, Prime Minister Haradinaj said.
Prime Minister Haradinaj said Balkan countries need more to talk to each other than to talk about each other.
The “at the Sofia Summit was mentioned that the process for one of us means the process for many of us. Kosovo is open to new investments. We welcome investments in the telecom, in the mining field and we are expecting you to express interest. A special welcome for Bulgaria's Prime Minister Boyko Borissov, who has chaired the European Presidency and since now, Balkan countries were more present on the European agenda. In Kosovo we need all of us, we need people who make decisions and influence on making these decisions”, Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj said at the Vienna Economic Forum, which is being held in Sofia, Bulgaria.
