Hahn: Define legally binding agreement for Serbia, Kosovo

EU Enlargement Commissioner Johannes Hahn has said the long-term solution to normalising reports between Kosovo and Serbia implies a sustainable and realistic solution based on international law. The next step is normalisation at a comprehensive level, and on both sides, with the help of Federica Moghrin, define the content of the agreement [...]
The next step is to normalise at a comprehensive level, and on both sides, with the help of Federica Mogher, to define the contents of the legally binding agreement”, said Hahn in an interview for Serbian media, “Tanjug”.
He has estimated that the so-called dialogue has led to significant normalisation of relations between the two countries.
“Presidents Hashim Thaci and Aleksandar Vuciq in July 2017, through dialogue mediated by senior representative Federica Moghrini have started working on the sweeping normalisation of legally binding relations. Over the years, dialogue has led to significant normalisation of relations between Belgrade and Pristina, while the next step is for normalisation to be sent to a comprehensive level. Both sides, with the help of Federica Moghrin, must define the contents of the legally binding deal”, have clarified Hahn, broadcast Koha.net.
He has reiterated that with comprehensive normalisation of relations, both countries will benefit and be very interested in their path towards European integration.
Johannes Hahn says the EU now expects the agreement for the Association of Serbian municipalities to be implemented without delay.
The Agreement envisions the AKS statute being formulated for four months from starting work on it. Kosovo's prime minister has given the team mandate to start work on April 4th, which means the deadline ends on August 4th”, he added.
