The Parliamentary Commission for Foreign Policy and Defence in Greece has overwhelmingly approved a bill submitted by the Hellen State Ministry on the Memorandum of Co-operation between Greece and Albania.
This decision paves the way for Albania's support from Greece, on the road to European integration, at a time when Albania expects the opening of negotiations in June.
Pro-Memorandumi co-operation parties have voted the parties of the ruling coalition, Syriza and Independent Greeks, as well as the opposition Potam party, while the New Democracy, PASOK and the Centre Union have expressed reservations about this memorandum.
As expected, entirely against this memorandum of co-operation has voted the Golden Dawn party, which is known for its hate speech to Albania.
With the vote at the parliamentary Commission, the draft law will now be passed for a vote in Parliament on the next day.
