Greece's Foreign Minister, Nikos Kotzias, voiced optimism that negotiations with Albania will be concluded with an agreement by the end of May, broadcast abcnews.al.

In an interview for Greek television “Skai”, Kotzias also talked about talks with Turkey and Macedonia.

Greece's Foreign Minister, Nikos Kotzias, in an interview for television “Sky” has commented on all developments in his diplomacy. Among other things, he has talked about sharing maritime space with Albania. Regarding this matter, it tells of meetings between parties and is very optimistic.

Nikos Kotzias, Greece's foreign minister: “We have talks on the Economic Exclust Zone with Albania, our technical teams have met again. We hope that by the end of May we will have a deal and if not at the end of May, early June. And we have the case with Italy, which is in our hands, after we end up with Albania, we will deal with Italy”.

Most of the interview focused more on tensions between Greece and Turkey. For this, Kotzias said he expects a very provocative rhetoric by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, seeing that presidential and parliamentary elections will be held for a month. All of Ankara's actions, ranging from the removal of Greek flags on several islands to the imprisonment of two Athens soldiers, he considered pure provocations, which should not occur between the two NATO member states.

Kotzias also talked about negotiations with Skopje on the name. He announced that there are 5 UN mediator Matthew proposals on Zoran Zaev's government table Nimetz. Athens' foreign diplomacy chief said one of the proposals is Skopje's “Macedonia”. Kotzias also underscores that Greece will not be the problem of which name Skopje will choose, but stressed changes in the Constitution.
