From today, students of the Department of Journalism at the Faculty of Philology will have greater opportunity to get to know about journalism, which is because the American Embassy in Kosovo has donated 560 books to this department that deal with the field of media.
This donation of the United States was made to World Press Freedom Day.
Media Institute Director Remzie Sahini-Hojaj said these books will serve a lot for the education and education of young journalists.
Sahini- Hoxhaj made it known that this book fund will meet the needs of the students of this department after they have a huge lack of books in this field.
We're getting a donation here today from 560 books of journalism translated into Albanian and some copies of another book in English which are very important for the education and education of young journalists...06;15” The science of media is a new science around the world especially in Kosovo, so we don't have much literature in Albanian I believe will fulfill much of the lack of literature in Albanian. So of the 560 copies, we have a total of 500 students at three levels, so we're going to give these copies to every student and we're going to have them for us as Department”, Sahini-Hojaj said.
She also said that this department has highly educated in protecting human rights and freedoms, as well as freedom of expression in Kosovo.
On the other hand, Richard May of the U.S. Embassy in Kosovo said that freedom of the press is very important for a democratic state, so he encouraged students and staff of this department to continue with their work in this regard.
He said they have translated a glove from English to Albanian, which will serve in educating young journalists.
The press license is very vital for a country and I want to congratulate both the journalism department and the University of Pristina and the students and staff who take this element very seriously and I want you to continue this profession because it is important to a country's democracy. To assist in this regard, we have helped this book of lyre that will be useful in educating young journalists and we hope to serve for the education of society in general in a democratic country”, Mei has declared.
On the occasion of donating this book fund from the US Embassy in Kosovo for the Department of Journalism, several titles were donated to students present.
All at the end of the United States Embassy in Kosovo became known that the American Master Studies Competition has opened up for Kosovo students who want to continue studying there.
