German Parliament Speaker and EU Relations Committee Chairman Guenter Krihbaum says he does not believe Western diplomats have already agreed on a solution to Kosovo.
At a joint press conference with Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, Krihbaum said he does not know whether there has been a meeting among Quint diplomats but does not believe there is a deal reached.
Krihbaun said that “is fruitful when diplomats meet”, but that he knows nothing about such arrangement.
“I don't believe there are and there can be no”, the German official said when answering the question of whether the US, Great Britain, France, Germany and Italy discussed talks between Belgrade and Pristina, which, reportedly, could end with an agreement this year.
Vuciq said Serbia has some knowledge, but over the next few days it will understand what is really happening.
Whatever's going on, I have some knowledge, but what we'll know in the coming days”, Vuciq said.
The Serbian president said that “everyone treats Kosovo as state”. “It's not my problem to say publicly that we think differently”.
According to him, “this shows only Serbia's seriousness”, but Serbia's interest will certainly not enter into a conflict with the Western world.
Our “interest is to protect our country and make a better future for our children”, he said.
Western countries US, Great Britain, France, Germany and Italy met in Washington to discuss Kosovo-Serbia talks, media reported, but this has not been confirmed by either side of the meeting.
