Today, a European Union delegation is expected to arrive in Kosovo to receive data about fighting organised crime and corruption, as the last criterion for visa liberalisation for Kosovo.

The European Union delegation will remain in Kosovo until Saturday, and will collect data from Kosovo institutions on how much has been worked on meeting the last criteria for abolishing visas.

European Integration Minister Done Hoxha has indicated that institutions have already made all necessary preparations on this issue, meanwhile, it has voiced confidence that Kosovo will receive positive results.

Even Justice Minister Abelard Tahiri has expressed confidence that Kosovo will receive positive recognition from the European Union's delegation for fighting organised crime and corruption.

Minister Tahiri in an interview has said the EU technical delegation, coming to Kosovo, will provide positive assessment, as according to him, Kosovo institutions are doing good work in implementing the fight against corruption and organised crime.

This technical team from the European Commission will therefore assess the progress made in order to assess Kosovo whether it meets the criteria for receiving the recommendation for visa liberalisation. Since it is a technical team, their assessment, as well as the European Commission, will have recommendation approaches, then it remains to member states one by one to determit giving or non-visiting visa liberalisation”, Tahiri has indicated.

While the opposition have voiced sceptical whether there will be good news after this visit.

This, according to them, has not been worked enough towards meeting the latest criteria for visa removal, fighting organised crime and corruption.
