Turkey must have television debates among candidates for president, on early elections to be held next month. So has declared the presidential candidate of the main opposition party, Muharrem Incre.
“Allow us to make television debates, where we would show our dreams for Turkey”, said Ince, the candidate for president from the Republican People's Party (CHP).
He has said that such a thing would put Turkey alongside developed states that have similar traditions.
In this regard, there has been no immediate reaction from Turkish President Recep Tayip Erdogan or from the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP).
Three other candidates -- coming from the centre-right bloc -- from an Islamist party and a candidate -- will run except for Ince and Erdogan, followed by the pro-Kurdish movement, REL.
