Consumer price hikes during April

Kosovo's Statistics Agency has published the harmonised consumer prices index for April 2018, where it says that a slight rise in prices is seen in tree subgroups, mineral water, nonalcohol drinks, tree and vegetables, electricity and use of personal transport equipment.

According to the AKS, the overall harmonised index of consumer prices in the country is unchanged 0.0% in April 2018, compared to March 2018. Despite that, however, some changes in prices of articles and services are noted in COICOP groups and subgroups. The slight freeze of prices is observed in subgroups: tree (1.1%); mineral water, nonalcohol drinks, juices from trees and vegetables (0.4%); electricity (2.5%); use of personal transport equipment (0.5%), with a common impact of these subgroups of 0.1% in IHCHK.

<x0) The estimated inflation rate in April 2018 by April 2017 was 0.4%. The overall harmonised consumer prices index is higher by 0.4% in April 2018, compared to April 2017. This is mainly explained with the establishment of consumer prices in COICOP subgroups: bread and cereal (1.9%); meat (0.5%); milk, cheese and eggs (1.5%); coffee and tea (3.4%); tobacco (3.1%); use of equipment for personal transport (2.0%); transportation services (6.5%)-enhancing the price of tickets by plane), with a common impact of these subgroups of 0.9% in IHK. The rise was neutralised, mainly by the drop in consumer prices in COICOP subgroups: vegetables (-3.2%); sugar and land muse (-9.0%); electricity, gas and other fuels (-1.5%) - tree-priced heating prices; household equipment (-3.5%); audio-visual equipment, information processing photo (-5.2%), with a common impact of these sub-groups (0.5%) in IHCH1F, the municipality said.
