Among the winning projects is Google, Intel, Qualcomm and Microsoft. All four of these companies are joined by Apple and Amazon, considered a outpost in this field.
However, Transport Secretary Elaine Chao did not close the door to other projects.
There are no losers in this part. There were dozens of applications made, which have not been selected, but they can be licensed for testing in the coming months by us”, she said.
But what does this decision mean? The ten licensed companies will be able to conduct experiments with fears flights that are beyond the Federal Aviation Administration's statistical rules.
