Apostolova: Parties reach consensus, ahead of last phase of dialogue with Serbia

According to her, the sooner a package of ideas is compiled and the sooner there is a consensus agreement among the parties, it would be much better for Kosovo.

Apostolova has reiterated that if Kosovo and Serbia do not normalise reports with legal binding agreements at the end of the dialogue, there will be major obstacles to both for membership in the European Union.

Apostolova has also indicated that the EU office in Kosovo this year is a priority education, showing that GIZ and GIZ have made education assessments, launched by the ministry.

Apostolova has reiterated that she is not satisfied with the large number of deputy ministers, but has added that she hopes with the Law on Government that issue will be adjusted.

Apostolova has also indicated that the Assembly has not consulted the EU regarding the Media Law. She has added that consultations and public debate on the issue is essential.

“Freedom of expression for us is one of the fundamental principles is fundamental right and one of the EU's highest values. So for us, this issue is extremely important. I haven't seen the law and there's been no consultation with us for it, so in the EU office we have the mechanism of law review. These are excellent lawyers from member states, which review the bills Kosovo learns to implement and approve of the Acquis Communautaire. With that, we help harmonise legislation, even without starting negotiations with the EU. So they have not consulted us about this law, so I cannot comment further. It is initiative, but it is very important that if the initiative materializes, all parties interested in this process should consult because freedom of expression is extremely important to us. But as we see it, there should be proper analysis or need it, why, if so, what solutions it offers to resolve the issues it deals with. I would strongly advise us to consult so that we can offer good experiences, experiences of our member states, because I am listening to different opinions, that there is a need for this law and that there is no need for”, Apostolova added.
