Albanian Hoxha Seeks Restore of Death Sentence

The Lezha mosque's Hoxha made a statement that brought enough ovations among those present at the civic forum for public safety, when it called for the return of the death penalty in the country.

“Albania is a special case, and in Europe it must be accepted as a special case that if the death penalty returns, many social wounds that have plagued the country will be resolved. We as a Muslim community will lobby in Parliament if green light is given from you”, Hoxha said.

But Vlahtin said the EU does not accept the death penalty. This is a suggestion but you should know that there are some fundamental values that each human's life should be protected. There's a rule of law, a country that we're trying hard to help work. The death penalty is not accepted by the EU”, Vlahin said. /Panorma/
