Air quality software along

In the case of launching this software, Minister Resitaj expressed satisfaction that citizens would now be informed correctly and in real time about air quality in several Kosovo municipalities, while the MMPH on the basis of polluting values for certain periods will make decisions and measures towards reducing and controlling air pollution.

“Based on the importance of informing citizens of air pollution levels and positive impact on their awareness of air protection from pollution, as well as in order to raise the level of transparency and accountability today, we are launching the air quality software in Kosovo”, said Minister Resitiy.

She thanked the European Commission for the support given in implementing this software, the American Government, which through MMC is helping to enhance the geographical extent of the air quality monitoring system and investments in the maintenance of stations, as well as Japanese JICA for contributing to the increased capacity in air quality stations.

Minister Resitaj also stated that the software being launched today is completely compatible with the Air Quality Index in Europe and conducted monitoring of the 5 main pollutants, which also includes the air quality index.

Finally, Minister Resitaj stressed that in step towards advancing the public information system, MMPH will also develop the app for phones where citizens will have direct information from the phone for the air quality index.
