Oh, Albania! Like many other Balkan countries, we had only heard about political history and did not feed high expectations, writes popular tourist site Toresofbookpacker. com.
But now we can say that it is one of the favorite countries, and we cannot speak only well of all the good things you can do in Albania.
Nature in Albania is phenomenal, including rugged mountains, rivers, lakes and fantastic beaches. Complete with several ancient U cities NESCOs, and at convenient prices as in dream... just the best holiday destinations.
We have (an accident) spent four weeks on Balkan streets and wanted to demonstrate the variety of fantastic things to see in Albania. So if you ask what to do in Albania, we give you the right information.
1) Escape to Valbonne
Who knew that the Albanian Alps were impressive places for impressive field trips? We don't! Until we were invited by other bloggers on this adventure.
The explosion from Theth to Valbonne lasts from 6-8 hours and presents the most beautiful landscapes we have seen on our journey.
2) Visit to Castle”Rosafa”
The visit to the city of Shkodra deserves a day or two visit, and its castle is the most interesting part of the city. A fascinating view of impressive stories.
3) Enjoying a beer in the rotating bar in Tirana
Yeah. You read it well! Drinking beer rolling 360 and enjoying Tirana's view from every corner. Bar” Sky Tower” is open every day, but sunset is a magical moment of sitting and rolling.
4) A visit to museum in abandoned bunker
You will never stay without visiting strange things in Albania, but visiting BU NK ART Tirana is advisable. It is one of many bunkers built by dictator Hoxha, who now belongs to Albania's history. It's really interesting and informative. They've been able to open another one in town.
5) Get the lift to see Tirana's most beautiful views
A little farther out of town is Dajti Mountain with some beautiful panoramic views. There are many travel places in the area. High restaurants have a tasty meal and spectacular view at sunset.
6) Camping on Albania's most beautiful beaches
We were scheduled to spend a week on the Albanian coast, but we managed to do two weeks. We were at the end of the season (September), and we were alone on most beaches. Camping in Albania is legal, and we found many fantastic places in stay-day.
7) Visit the beaches where you can walk
Many restaurants and hotels are located along Albania's coastline. While many of the countries are accessible to humans, some of them require walking to achieve. Walking through these places has led many people to attend these quiet places to spend the day. Our favorites were the beach in Gipe and a bay north of Livadhi.
8) Visit Berat. City of One on a Window
In reality, we failed because we had to grow several miles and were unable to visit him.
We've heard positive things about the city and it'll probably be on our next agenda. You can visit Berat on a day trip from Tirana.
9) Look at roofs of stone tablets in the old town of Gjirokastra
It's a town in U's wealth. NESTO and also a beloved city. This historic city dates back to the 18th century and stands out for its stone buildings. The roofs have also been impressively constructed with stone plates on top of each other. From the fortress of the city there's a panoramic view. There are also many restaurants and bars on the streets of town.
10) Dive in the Warm Waters of the Maker
We tried and made it. It was a breakthrough. Just six miles [6 km] on a turning road from the small town of Permet reached a river with an ancient bridge and several artificial stone pools. Water is a warm temperature created by geothermal activity underground.
The wind is not pleasant with the smell of sulfur, but it quickly settles as you take a bath and a magnificent view around it. It costs $200, about 1.5 euros for two people, and it has parking. At night camping is also possible in thermal pools.
11) Experiment and see small villages driving
Albania is a fantastic country for road travel. Rugs are often in holes, lane streets, lots of animals, and farm cars on the road. So don't plan anything to get to it fast. As you drive, however, you may be enthralled by farmers and children who are doing daily chores.
12) Eat pies (morning, lunch, dinner)
This excellent food is present in almost all the Balkans, and almost for us, it became basic food for the three months we stayed there. It is made up of dough, spinach, cheese, or meat. Simple, tasty and economic, 70 cents one. It is found in all Albania's furnaces.
13) Swim in the Crystalwaters
We had heard Albania's beaches were beautiful, but we did not know what awaited us. But now, wow... I don't think we've seen water so clean. We have also been on the islands of Fiji, Cuba, and the Greek islands. You can't see these waters until you get up straight. We did this every day.
14) Enjoy at least 10 Types of Fiction
In reality, we have introduced ourselves to this dessert in Montenegro, but we are convinced it is an Albanian specialty. A type of tort like sponge made up of milk and pans and a layer of caramel on it. Every restaurant, oven, Albanian mother has her prescription with a milk mix and candy, so some types must be tried.
15) Eat Fresh Fish With Real Prices
Albania has fish and is free. We ate several different restaurants along the coastline, and everywhere it was cheap and delicious. An average plate was roughly 5-10 euros along with a drink and accompanying plate.
16) Visit First Albanian School in the City of Korca
Korca was a mandatory passage to Macedonia, but we finally fell in love with her. There are some attractive places that can be visited within two days, and there are many good places to eat delicious food. One of the most attractive sites is the first Albanian school now to be the National Museum. It was first opened in 1878 and aimed at teaching the language in children.
17) Look at Corca's appearance from the panoromic obelisk
At the end of the pedonal road there's a tower where you can climb the elevator and taste the view, and we thought why not? Panorams are really beautiful. As far as we can say, it's just a tourist attraction and it doesn't make any other sense.
18) Find and see bunkers
A trip to Albania cannot be called fulfilled without learning something about the past. BUNKART is an excellent way to introduce itself to Albania's bunkers. They're everywhere. Enver Hoxha built 550,000 bunkers in the event of an attack. So wherever you go, be careful. Some have returned to coffee and shelter, some decorated, some in cattle huts.
19) Take the ferry to Lake Koman
This beautiful trip is a duty if you are in the Shkodra area. We made a trip back from Thethhi to Valbona. The scenery we saw was truly amazing.
20) Visit the Green Eye
These are the most clean and cold water we've ever seen. The most famous is between Saranda and Gjirokastra. There is another about 2.5 hours on foot or 30 minutes by car from Theth. We preferred this second.
As you can see, Albania is filled with beautiful things to do and most of them are very economical. September was the perfect month to visit Albania, and the climate was still incredible (27-32°C) and there are few tourists left on the beaches.
So, what are you waiting for? Plan your trip to the Balkans!
