The researcher, who collected the data from Facebook users, sold it to the Cambridge Analytica marketing firm.
It has been discovered in recent weeks that Cambridge Analytica has had access to the profile information of some 87 million Facebook users.
Cambridge Analytica is known for its connections to the campaign of current United States President Donald Trump, and claims it played “an integral” stake in the Trump's victory, observes Atsh.
