Turkey responds to Makroni over Balkan statements

In a statement, Turkish Foreign Ministry spokesman Hami Aksoy has said that “the use of these expressions in the European Parliament for the Balkans as an area of rivalry for the EU, Turkey and the Federation of Russia” is similar to last year's address, reports “Hriyet”, Periskopi broadcasts.

“Being also a Balkan country, Turkey's goal and priority in the region today, as it has been in the past, is the preservation and strengthening of peace, stability and sustainable development”, he said.

With this objective, we continue to support the membership of all countries in the region in European and Euro-Atlantic institutions”, Aksoy said.

“Brenda this framework, we advise France to try to better understand Turkey's contribution to Balkan stability efforts,”, he said./Periscopi/
