Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister Enver Hoxhaj has said the main message in this report is visa liberalisation. He has indicated that he expects procedures for visa liberalisation will be conducted in May of this year.
I've had a call from Commissioner Han for us, we've been co-ordinating with the states. We have support from Brussels. In the next week, Tusk will visit Kosovo. He will meet the leaders of the country. It will bring clear message to Kosovo”, he said.
According to him, the European Commission report is real.
“In 2018 the main theme of Kosovo is liberalisation”, Hoxhaj said on Kosovo Radio Television.
Hoxhaj expects procedures for visa liberalisation to be conducted in May of this year.
The decision is derived from Commissioner Dimitris Avramoopoulos and Commissioner Han. The vote that must be secured 55 % present in Parliament, so we must have 65 % of the EU population”, he said. According to him, Kosovo should seek support. For states that have not recognised Kosovo Hoxhaj believes they will not pose problems for Kosovo. “They have followed Kosovo from the start to the end. Kosovo has met 95 criteria. Other states have completed double less than Kosovo. These countries will not be a problem”, he said.
Hoxhaj has estimated that Kosovo has become unfair.
“The EU has granted liberalisation of the votes to Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia. A job awaits us at the end of the process. We have to work in European capitals. 2018 is the crucial time for Kosovo”, he said.
