The man who allegedly drove a van to a restaurant Saturday in Muenster was a German citizen with psychic problems, wrote “Suedddeutsche Zeitung” in its online edition, Reuters reports.

The man is not reported to have had a terrorist history, the paper adds, citing information provided but without providing the source.

Three people have lost their lives in the town of Münster in the West of Germany after a car hit a crowd on a restaurant roof.

Spiegel reports that at the time of the crime, many policemen were present in the centre just like Münster because a demonstration of Kurds had been warned.
