Instead of the tree planted by Donald Trump and Emmanuel Macro, a yellow grass spot is seen today in the southern lawn of the White House park. But where did the tree end? The White House has not made comments, but its departure has been fixed on some images of the news agency [...]
The White House has not made comments, but its departure has been fixed by some images of the news agency “Reuters”.
The tree was planted on April 23rd by the American president and his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron, during the official visit to the US.
It's about an oak tree, a personal gift from Macron, coming from the site of the battle of the forest “Belleau”, where American troops fought in 1928 during World War I.
In the symbolic gesture, the two presidents were accompanied by the first ladies, Melanie and Brigitte.
Macron had underlined the significance of the gesture with a tweet. “100 years ago, American soldiers fought in France, Beleau, for the protection of our freedom. This tree, my gift to Donald Trump, will be a permanent reminder at the White House of ties that unite us”, he wrote.
