Regular drinking of alcohol can take years of your life, according to a new study.
The study of 600,000 alcohol drinkers concluded that 1015 alcoholic beverages per week could cut a person's life from 1 to 2 years.
Researchers warn that people who drink more than 18 alcoholic beverages a week may lose between 4 and 5 years of their lives.
Lancet's study authors said they have not found a risk of growing death by soft drinks.
Scientists who compared the health of people who consume alcoholic beverages came to the conclusion that years of life are at risk if you drink in the same way for the rest of your life.
People who consume the equivalent of about 5-10 drinks a week can cut their lives to six months.
Study authors also discovered that alcohol drinking increased the risk of cardiovascular disease, reports the BBC.
