Nearly a year after Libya's police announced that they have freed the son of the slain dictator Moammer el Gadaf, Seif Al Islam's fate is still a mystery.
He reportedly was released from prison by the Abu Bakr Al Sadik Brigade, who once controlled the town of Zintan in western Libya, has never been proven.
While some insist he's still alive somewhere in Zintan, others say Seif is dead.
However, one thing is certain. Since June 2014 it has not been heard of since it was seen in a video during trial in Tripoli, AFP reports.
Seif has been reported since former French President Nicolas Sarcozy is accused of financing his pre-election campaign in 2007 with Gaddafi's money.
In an interview for Euronews television in 2011, Seif has said that Sarcozy must return the money he has received from Libya to finance his election campaign.
