The numerous debates that took place over the effect of the Gensulina insulin on patients in Kosovo has prompted the company, which produces this drug, to take legal steps.
The drug company in Poland “Bioton”, which produces the insulin of the type Gensulina M30 and Gensulin R, has indicted two endocrinologists Bardhil Gashi and Luan Gola for slander, reports KTV.
This company is claiming that all its statements about the effect of its grass, license and quality are untrue.
Artan Qerkeyni, company lawyer “Bioton”, says both doctors did not accept any confrontation or company comments about the bar.
Moreover, Qerinni says he never received remarks from official institutions on the effects of this bar and its quality.
But both indicted endocrinologists say they stand behind their statements made over the years.
Although they have refused to speak to the camera, the head of the Association of endocrinologists and Diabetologists, Bardhil Gashi, said by telephone that all his statements are official and that the petition and demands of the Kosovo endocrinologists and diabetesists did not influence the Health Ministry not to sign the tender for this insulin.
Meanwhile, endocrinologist Luan Gola has said his statements that this insulin has no clinical study and is not a page registered at the European Drug Agency continue to stay and are very easily verifiable.
The same statement, Gola had made more than a week earlier at a table, part of which were also health ministry officials.
The whole debate over insulin began years ago when the Association of Kosovo endocrinologists and Diabetologists raised concerns that the type of insulin Gensulina, which has been contracted by the Health Ministry, is not producing the right effects on patients.
This association, in turn, demanded clarification of why the MSH contracted this kind of grass, which, according to them, is not registered in the European Agency of Medicines.
