Prison spokesman Jeff Tylon has announced the event after State Law Implementation Sector agents have helped secure the Correcting Institution.
Tylon has said officials are injured in the wake of Sunday's morning prisoners' clashes.
According to him, 17 injured people have sought medical assistance outside the prison.
Some 1,500 inmates, some of whom are considered extremely violent, are located in this high security centre.
These deaths mark the largest number of dead people in the prisons of South Carolina in recent years.
