Here's what the man who got in front of NATO machines in Gjakova ( Photo)

His picture took the world's round, when he with his two hands up, with tears in his eyes and great joy was thrown into NATO car windows 16 years ago in Gjakova.

It's Agim Berber or how he's known as Russia, who tells what happened that day and how he survived.

Berber had stayed in Gjakova for 78 nights amid flames, murders, and massacres and had almost lost hope of his freedom.

When we hear that the columns of Italian soldiers are approaching the entrance of the city, we have come out with several other people who were staying together.

Very few yards away from us were Serb paramilitaries standing with a pinger and a carbill ready to shoot at us.

And as NATO forces approached me, I first pulled out a red flag and put it in a sign of communication, then I ran towards them, while the Serbs have directed the machine gun in my direction.
I don't know why they didn't shoot at me, but I know they fired five times in the air”, he says.

He estimates that NATO's entry saved Gjakova from total extermination, and according to him, Serbs have killed people and burned houses for several hours as NATO soldiers were inside the city.

While his images were thrown into NATO car windows, they still exist, and then they have been seen all over the world.
