The finance ministry has said the 100 municipal inspectors wanted by the Food and Veterina Agency cannot be returned under AUV.
AUV chief chief Valdet Djindovci has said that with 10 inspectors how much this agency currently owns it is impossible to ensure a sustainable audit in the country's 37 municipalities. He has said he has repeatedly addressed the request to the Ministry of Finance that 100 municipal inspectors get the agency, but this minister has not done so.
Those comments were made by AUV's chief chief chief when he was called to the commission for the scandal in importing broken meat from Belgium to Kosovo.
The Ministry of Finance for Economists has said these inspectors are budgeted at the municipal level and that the Local Power Finance Law does not allow the transfer of budget from municipal level to centre.
These inspectors are budgeted at the municipal level. The Local Power Finance Law does not allow the delivery of the budget from the municipal level to the central”, the ministry's response reported.
