Kosovo's European Integration Minister, Gift Hoxha, in an interview for Voice of America commented on the Freedom House organisation's analysis of the problems observed in Kosovo over the past year, and discussed Kosovo's ambitions and challenges.
She said the Kosovo government has recently adopted 11 laws, which are related to the fight against corruption. “We hope that these laws will meet the gaps and help us be more efficient and have greater accountability”, the Kosovo Integration Minister said.
She said there is hope that within the year Kosovo citizens will move freely to EU countries, like their neighbours, and that on April 17th they expect the assessment report of the criteria that have been set for Kosovo to progress in European integrations.
Asked about the recent incident of the deportation of six Turkish citizens to Ankara, she said an investigation expected to be completed very soon has been launched. From this investigation, she said, we will have a very transparent report, with which Kosovo's people will be recognised not only, but also international partners.
