Speeding up job creation is slowing down and Kosovo is facing the challenge of creating more jobs for its citizens, World Bank Country Manager in Kosovo Marco Mantovanelli has said today “Koha Ditore”.

According to him, to support the momentum of growth and the continuation of further job creation, it is important that public economic institutions create an equal ground, especially through the rule of law and better implementation of contracts, higher capacity for contract management, and an inspection regime that is effective without overloading companies.

In an interview for the Time Ditore, he has said it is important to invest in human capital to ensure proper skills, infrastructure for sustainable energy sources, better regional ties via roads, railways, but also through information technologies and communication. Important, according to him, is the lower level of corruption, as well as the preservation of political stability.

Even though Kosovo has noted positive steps in its latest Doing Business report, according to him, business indicators do not measure all aspects related to firms or investors, or factors that contribute to competitiveness.

It has said that public institutions should create an equal ground, especially in terms of ensuring property rights, rule of law and implementation of contracts.
