The president of Madrid's regional government has resigned following the release of a video recording showing her stealing creams on her face seven years ago reports Guardian, writes Periscopi.
Cristina Cifentes, one of the best-known figures of the People's Party led by Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy, has been under pressure to step down following allegations that he had forged his master's diploma.
She said Wednesday that she was trying not to further embarrass her family or her colleagues.
Cifuentes managed to hold his position behind charges of diplomas, but her retirement fate set video engineering in question.
Speaking of the video, she said the video didn't show more than a “involuntarily error” she had made in 2011. She has ruled with Madrid since 2015. /Periscopi
