Two days after two police officers had crashed into the Lepenc River and nothing is known of their fate, Tashlo has also recalled past cases, letting it be known that all families of falling police officers in office receive salaries from the union.
We've always had contact with the members of the police involved. As unions, we have been forced to seek help for those families. We've raised two rounds of 45 thousand euros, and in the third round, 200 thousand euros. At the fund's collection, now Foreign Minister Behgjet Pacolli through his company has extended 50 thousand euros, Elkos and several other companies have contributed by large numbers”, he has indicated.
And as the director, as the minister, we've been trying to get close to families. As a union, we also visited every family as director. It's the monthly salary they get. Now they receive about 300 euros each of the police families who lost their lives on duty”.
Tashloi has said the head of the Kosovo Police Union will take part in the protest tomorrow, May 1st, organised by BSPK.
It in “Express Interviste” has stated it is also considering future steps unless the request for health and accidental insurance is met. Tasholli also said he does not rule out the possibility of protests.
The work being done is enjoyable, but without health insurance it is pointless. This would total 4m euros per year, which could only be kept with the fines we pronounce. I mean, they owe us in this form, but as a country, health insurance has to be made. The injured policeman on duty, his complete recovery is paid by the Police Fund. All cops have accidental insurance. That is when if police die from natural causes paid up to 20,000 euros, while accidental up to 30 thousand euros”, it has indicated. “The possibility that if we don't have any answers, we're forced to protest. We're thinking about this case. With the new minister we have not officially met”.
According to Tasholli, the biggest obstacle lies with the minister of finance. He has said that they constantly receive different words in informal responses, but never officially.
“Pessa is at the minister of finance and prime minister. We have a very direct conversation with the prime minister. He knows what security means, but he knows that the obstacle lies with the minister of finance. Their answer is never no, in writing, not just in verbal response. Deputy Finance Minister said we'll try to make health insurance, but it's easier for him to be vital and accidental. But there's nothing more. We're unanswered. As long as we're in this situation, we'll act on the union steps. It's a step tomorrow. We're still looking for a meeting with the prime minister and finance minister, and we're going to show them that our request is not endless. Let's hope we get back to where we're from.
As for the police pension issue, Tashloi has said this issue is being considered by the Police Directorate. He has also said that he should think of police officers who have worked even in the time of the parallel system and not be left behind. According to him, it should not be for a policeman who has experienced various abuses to retire for just 70 euros.
The “is seven years of police retirement. The police are supposed to retire by 200 euros. It's supposed to be 65 years, but it's been demanded at 55 and at a gross salary of 60 percent. That still stands at 200 euros. We refused, and now it's thought that the cop would retire before the age of 65 get 60 percent of the net” salary, Tasholli said.
