Major criticisms of the recent situation with the meat scandal were received by MPs even the Food and Veterina Agency, where it was told that this institution is not providing quality meat products for the country's consumers.
The chairman of the Commission for Human Rights and Gender Equality, Duda Bae, has said they are not against producers and meat processing, but according to her, there should not be broken meat and scandals such as are happening recently.
According to her, consumers are facing nonquality meat products. She says convinced there are irregularities in the meat market.
“We are 100 percent sure that Kosovo market has had bad meat products... How can we now have products on the table of a Kosovo family of corrupt meat products? Who's guilty now?
AUV chief executive chief Valdet Djindovci has said that this institution has eliminated rotten meat from Belgium produced in 2004, two cargo, in 2016 and 2017.
He added that in 2017 over 500 tonnes of food goods have been eliminated, while during this three - month period, 78 tons of meat products have been eliminated.
On legal, institutional roads, we confirm that no meat was imported indefinitely on the official road, but for smuggling I don't guarantee it, for smuggling is someone else. Inspectors of the Food and Veterina Agency do not control the green line or handle the work of smuggled products”, Djindovci has said.
He has denied allegations that AUV is not working on the findings of broken meat.
The fact that, often speaking, is not working or not working. There are others who judge, but that is the truth. Thus, meat from Belgium has not been introduced indefinitely, both loads which have been identified by the agency's inspector, and both have been destroyed”, Djindovci said.
The target in this debate was economic operator Elkos and Prizren's market.
The MP from the Initiative's ranks, Albulenj-Halimaj, has accused Elko's leaders of saying numerous meat scandals. She publicly urged consumers to boycott Elkos, as there are many irregularities in this meat product economic operator. However, Fatos Islami intervened from Elkos, where there was verbal confrontation with MP Balaj-Halimaj, who slammed his documents at the table.
Otherwise, while the discussion was being held on the parliamentary commission for broken meat, 350kg of such ham and sausage were seized in Ferizaj.
