KDI: Taking steps against MPs who have used non-parliamentarians languages

The insults and clashes that took place in the Republic of Kosovo's Parliament during the last two sessions have also prompted the reaction of the Kosovo Democratic Institute, where through a media communique it has been required to prevent this practice of using the non-parliamentarians language in the Parliament, Periscopi writes. According to KDI, the Assembly should not be [...]
According to KDI, the Assembly should not be a place where personal problems between MPs are clarified, and it has sought to take early measures against MPs who have used such a language.
Issues of general interest according to KDI should be topics of discussion in the Republic of Kosovo Assembly.
During yesterday's session in the Assembly, there has been a clash between VV deputy Drita Milaku and Parliament Speaker Kadri Wessel.
Banned Use of Parliamentary Language in Parliament
The Kosovo Democratic Institute (KDI), through this response, expresses concern over the deignive language used, in particular for the last two days, at the plenary session of the Kosovo Assembly.
It is unacceptable for the Parliament's deputies to insult each other and use mysogenous language. The Kosovo Assembly as the highest state institution should serve as a country to promote the values of democracy, human rights and gender equality, not to transform into the arena where clashes and insults are normal.
KDI calls on all MPs to end the non-parliamentarians' language and refrain from continuing insults, while calling for immediate measures against MPs using nonparliamentary languages to be taken.
The Kosovo Assembly should not return to the arena of keeping personal accounts using mutual accusations and denigrative diskurs, which conflicts with the constitutional obligations of the elected.
Discussions in the Assembly should be directed at addressing issues of economic, social and political interest for citizens of the country.
