Jasharaj: Bedri Hamza is speaking falsely, promising that the law for compensation can be applied

Finance Minister Bedri Hamza's statements, that the law for educators of the 1990s is a law that jeopardises Kosovo's budget if it is brought to the Assembly for approval, is calling it untrue -- the chairman of the Education and Science Union, Nundman Jasharaj, writes Periscopi. Jasharaj has said that at meetings they have [...]

Jasharaj has said that at meetings he has held with officials from the Ministry of Finance and others, they have agreed that this law is affordable to the state budget.

And if it happens that this law is not voted in the Parliament of the Republic of Kosovo, Jasharaj in a pronouncement for Periscope, has said they will go on strike again.

The SBASK leader describes it as a major achievement of the Law for Educators of the 1990s and says that the responsible commissions are already preparing it to send it to the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo.

This is not the first time Minister Bedri Hamza declared against the 90th-year teaching law, even in spite of the fact that the SBASK has met him. What is known and is an achievement of both Haradinaj's government and the SBASK, is that finally after five years, this bill found the government's support, and was voted on April 11th, and the Government has also sent it to parliament, where the responsible commissions will handle preparing it to send it to Parliament before deputies”, Yasharaj has declared Periscope.

Jasharaj says the budgetary cost of the 90th-year teaching law does not exceed much of 6m euros, and has also received the support of the finance ministry.

“What Minister Hamza says is not because this law with budgetary demands that have been made, to reward workers of the time, within a year does not exceed the amount of 6m euros, and even the finance ministry and others, at meetings when this text has been finalised, have agreed and agreed on this budget by saying it is affordable to our state budget”, Jasraj said.

He expects Albanian deputies in the Kosovo Assembly to vote on this law, otherwise they will go on strike again.

“We are confident that Albanian deputies regardless of political subjects, because they value the work of those people in the 1990s, and we are sure that Albanian MPs in the Kosovo parliament will vote on a voice of law, despite the evental problems they have among themselves. If the law is not voted in parliament, we will act the same as we did in trying to send it to Government. The SBASK has suspended the strike, but it doesn't mean there will be no future strikes, and we will protect this law, in any form allowed”, has ended Jasharaj for Periscope.

Meanwhile, Finance Minister Bedri Hamza has said such a law should not be adopted today, since he has described it as dangerous to the state budget.

According to him, such laws stemming from social pressures and immediate decisions endanger the budget.

This law has a risk, I say. It's a risk of becoming a precedent. Social pressures and ad hoc” are most at risk for the budget, he added.. /Periscopi/
