This is our goal, this is generally the goal of Brussels”, Ambassador Scott's TV told Koha.net.
The US will do what it can to do, suggest and propose, or calm the situation when it requires the need and where it has impact, however, the last “this is the work of direct talks between Belgrade and Pristina”, he has said.
“Even in Kosovo, even in Serbia the real situation should be considered and compromise achieved, while this is possible only if the open dialogue” is conducted, the US ambassador has indicated, adding that he is not referring only to dialogue between the two sides, but also within each society.
“What are the biggest interests? The interest is employment and economic growth. And they'll come when you have regular agreements and reports. That's the target”, Time.net reporting Serbian media.
According to Scott, it is not necessary for the US to invest in the dialogue, since the dialogue which the EU leads together with Belgrade and Pristina authorities is the best way.
If everyone wants us to get more involved, we'll be ready. But I think the EU is doing the job well for now, while we just want negotiations”, the American ambassador has indicated.
