Independent MP Salih Salihu's Group of Deputies has voiced its concern over imported meat, following the recent scandal with broken meat in Kosovo.
At today's session of the Kosovo Assembly, he said that non-term and broken products entering our country endanger the health of citizens.
Kosovo currently imports large amounts of food for which it is believed they do not meet the minimum criteria for quality and security, so they are outside any quality rating. In that sense, goods coming in Kosovo are believed to be produced in separate lines dedicated to the Kosovo market. With the lack of functioning of domestic institutions, especially AUV, as well as Kosovo customs, our country has become the polygon of introducing quality goods and ensuring lower food by seriously endangering the health of our citizens”, Salihu said.
MP Salihu has accused the Food and Veterina Agency, saying it failed to function since its establishment. While AUV chief Valdet Djindovci, according to him, is doing well to manage the successive scandals this agency is causing.
