In the speech given at the regional conference “Kosovo's next Decade: The advancement of Reforms, Regional Co-operation and EU Integration”, the chairman of the Kosovo Assembly, has spoken of Kosovo's readiness to move ahead in the next decade, Periscope follows.

Over the course, he has said that new <x0-genopics being developed in the world have the impacts, or unhelpful, in completing the international subjectivity of Kosovo”. Which more simply translated can be formulated as: the world is hindering Kosovo. The truth is, Kosovo is overwhelmed by its internal problems, by a dialogue process with no limits and no platforms, by an undeveloped economy and by political corruption.

But he has continued to deal with the world, and not with Kosovo, even when he adds that “Bota is constantly changing, at a staggering rate even, and we have to mobilise all our energy to push the statehood project forward...”

This is the full speech of Kadri Wessel:

First I want to welcome the organisers of this conference, in which we are addressing the challenges facing us in the coming decade of Kosovo. This valuable job is a clear indication of the vitality and dedication that Kosovo civil society has for major processes our country is going through.

In fact, it's a long tradition of commitment. Civil society has always been a very important factor in advancing political processes in Kosovo. I am deeply convinced that this very positive tradition will continue in the future.
The issue we have gathered at this conference has fundamental significance for the state of Kosovo. Just two months ago we celebrated the 10th anniversary of Kosovo's independence. Given the fact that the statehood processes are always complex and associated with different differences and objections, our balance so far is still positive.
In a few years we have achieved results that others have taken many decades to achieve. We've done a lot, but we've been able to do more, and actually better, in many ways.
Today, Kosovo, if compared to countries in the region, in many developmental segments is either at the same level as them, or before them, but if we compare with those countries we intend to reach, then we see that the New Decade of Independence must be the decade of great joint, hardworking jobs of all.
The new decade of Kosovo's independence is decades of hope for achieving the best Euro-Atlantic standards in our country. It's decades of the need for rapid change of nation. For corporate economic transformation, for empowering the state that reflects economic development. It is decades in which, everyone and everyone, should have more faith and devotion for our independent and sovereign state.
The completion of the statehood process, however, poses the first challenge of the new decade.
Currently, the new geopoliticals, which are being developed in the world, are having a backlog, or no aid, impact on the completion of Kosovo's international subjectivity.
Here I consider: The European Union crisis, which has shaken the security of its enlargement policy; then Russia's aggressive diplomacy, as well as other geopolitical developments that violate democratic values around the world. On the other hand, our northern neighbour is trying to take advantage of all this confusion, at the expense of our Euro-Atlantic perspective. But this reality, in no way, makes us discouraged. On the contrary, we need to be aware of the fact that the world is constantly changing, at a tremendous rate even, and we need to mobilise all our energy to push our design of statehood, empowering democratic institutions, rule of law, and opening up the country's prospects for economic development.
To move forward in this regard is a real turn in our politics. With this twist I mean readiness instead of polarising and wanting to beat each other with any form, to give priority to compromise and common consensus on matters of national interest to the country.
We must admit that we are wasting time and the country is lagging behind because of polarisation and political conflict with power. For three years we've lost energy insulting and labelling each other on issues that should unite us!
We've left a reputation with our empty disputes and, in the end, as a surprise, we've completed something that was nothing different than we could carry out, with a little quiet and rationality, three or two years ago. And besides conflict, we also took advantage of the isolation of our citizens, and that in the circumstances of a European Union dominated by the spirit of scepticism on its expansion.
Citizens of Kosovo neither love it nor deserve it.
Kosovo citizens believe in their state and we as a political class are obliged to justify this trust, not in words, but with concrete work and common decisions in the best interests of the country.
Starting with this, at the beginning of this week, I have made public a consensual and inclusive platform of the state agenda in the Republic of Kosovo.
I want to be perfectly direct: I haven't presented this platform for any kind of political protagonism, not against anyone, or certain political interests.
There is only one motive that lies behind this platform: the need to overcome the political and institutional stalemate situation and move forward in the closure of statehood and advancement on the path of Euro-Atlantic integration.
There is only one sure method in achieving these goals. This approach is the common consensus on a group of issues without resolving which we cannot move forward.

I have listed five such ones: Dialog with Serbia, the establishment of the Serb Majority Commission Association, the founding of the Kosovo Army, the European Integrations Agency, and the Election Reform

These issues will not divide us, nor will they turn into an apple of contention to block themselves as society and state. Reaching a common and inclusive consensus for quick addressing these issues is possible and necessary. In the coming days, we must walk in this regard. There is no more rational alternative than this.

We can do this and I am deeply convinced that all citizens expect such a movement from us. If we follow this path, be assured that the challenges of the New Decade of Independence will be far easier and our goals will be realized much sooner.

Euro-Atlantic integration is a product of our work, not a gift from Brussels. The fundamental lesson in our newest history is that when we've been united success has never been absent. It is time to regain the inspiration of this lecture and on its basis to fulfill the mission Kosovo citizens have given us their trust. /Periscopi
