The code now also envisions that public officials who commit criminal acts cannot exercise any position in the period of ten years.
Earlier, the ban on public office for those who committed criminal acts was 5 years.
Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj's adoption of the code with changes named great achievements for the country.
He said penalties for corruption-related works have been increased, he says, broadcasts Kaloxo.com.
“Plans involving corruption where there was a possibility have increased”, Haradinaj said.
Yesterday at a press conference, Minister Abelard Tahiri also spoke of the new code.
